57 July 2, 1984 <br /> McCullough - cont. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion to table matter until the next meeting. <br /> Peltier withdrew her motion. <br /> There was some discussion as to whether if Mr. Leibel signed a hold harmless <br /> agreement stating that he would not hold Hugo liable if no Building Permit were <br /> to be issued, wheterh the city would grant the subdivision. Mayor McAllister <br /> stated that he would like to talk to the City's legal counsel about such an <br /> agreement. <br /> RADAR <br /> There was discussion as to the pro's and con's of the City squad having a radar <br /> unit. It was thought that radar would deter speeding if drivers were aware of <br /> the radar unit. Ms. Mardell also felt it to be a good tool when prosecuting <br /> driving violations. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Schwab seconded, that the City of Hugo purchase <br /> the radar set as specified in the bid from Custom Radar. The city will <br /> donate the radar unit to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, with <br /> the understanding that that unit will be assigned exclusively to the <br /> squad car used in the Hugo contract. The sheriff's department will <br /> provide all the annual maintenance and certification, as well as all <br /> record keeping for the unit, in the amount of $1540.00. <br /> VOTING FOR: Atkinson, Schwab, McAllister <br /> VOTING AGAINST: Peltier <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> The city will attempt to participate in the application of calcium chloride <br /> program as offered by the county every spring. <br /> There was discussion about the keeping of pitbulls in the city. Specifically, <br /> whether they can be licensed or abolished. Schwab will check with the humane <br /> society. <br /> MOTION: Schwab made motion, Atkinson seconded, to adjourn at 9:53 PM. <br /> All aye.
