110 September 17, 1984 <br /> SPIZMAN - cont. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Schwab seconded, that Howard Spizman, 12301 <br /> Ethan Avenue, be granted permission to install private electrical service <br /> under Ethan Avenue, subject to Mr. Spizman signing an agreement that con- <br /> tains all conditions of the City Engineer and executes a hold-harmless <br /> agreement to be drafted by the City Attorney. The applicant to bear <br /> the cost for engineering and legal fees. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> FIRE HALL ADDITION <br /> There was much discussion regarding the cost feasibility and practicality of the <br /> two proposals for adding on to the City Hall, to the north and to the west. <br /> It was Mayor McAllister's personal opinion that the addition to the west is not <br /> the way to go for now. Chief Istvanovich felt that Kuusisto's cost estimate <br /> was too high, and provided the Council with some costs that he had obtained, <br /> which were considerably lower than the engineer's. The addition has been con- <br /> sidered to allow for more meeting room, a shop area, additional storage, and <br /> parking facility for the city truck. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, McAllister seconded, to table this matter until <br /> the meeting of 10/1/84. <br /> Peltier withdrew her motion. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion that the City Engineer advertise for informal <br /> quotes for the general purpose garage/building on the north end of <br /> City Hall and report a the next meeting. <br /> Motion failed for lack of second. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, that the City not construct <br /> an addition on City Hall this year (1984) . <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> Fire Chief informed the Council that the city not repair the transfer valve on <br /> #3 pumper, and that a new clutch will be installed on the rescue truck. <br /> 8.0 NEW BUSINESS <br /> 8.1 Ramsey County- Maintenance of County Road J <br /> The city received a letter regarding Hugo's responsibility to share in the cost <br /> of maintaining 120th Street. The City Engineer will attempt to negotiate with <br /> Ramsey County stating rHAr Hugo will maintain 120th Street west of Highway 61 if <br /> they will maintain the road east of 61. <br /> 9.0 ATTORNEY AND ENGINEER <br /> Engineer Kuusisto will report on the Bottle Company at a later date. <br /> The city received payment of $2,000 for the Armon Septic System. However, Mr. <br /> Johnson will notify the bonding company that Hugo will not indemnify their company. <br /> Mr. Johnson will advise the city as to when it can deposit the money. <br />
