Motion Carried. <br /> 4.0 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, to approve the General Claims for <br /> October 15, 1984, as submitted. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Atkinson seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for <br /> October 15, 1984, as submitted. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> JAMES G. HAUER <br /> Mayor McAllister stated that Mr. Hauer is running unopposed for Councilman, Ward I. <br /> It was his recommendation that Mr. Hauer be appointed to fill the present vacancy for <br /> that ward until December 31, 1984. The general election will determine the occupant <br /> of that position after the 31st. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Atkinson seconded, to appoint Mr. James G. Hauer <br /> to the vacant Council seat for Ward 1 , until December 31 , 1984. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> Let the record show that the City Clerk administered the oath of office. <br /> The Council recessed the regular meeting and called the public hearing to order at <br /> 7:16 PM, to consider an ordinance change to allow for wholesale floral operations <br /> as a principal use in the CB district. The record will show that there were no <br /> comments from the audience. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Schwab seconded, to adjourn the hearing at 7:17 PM. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> The regular meeting was called back to order at 7:18 PM. The Council initiated the <br /> public hearing, basically, because of the sale of the Harley Johnson sod farm along <br /> 145th Street. His property is zoned CB, and a Mr. Jim Johnson was interested in <br /> purchasing the property to house his wholesale floral operation. Because Mr. Johnson <br /> - is not interested in operating under a SUP, he was informed that the city would <br /> consider making a possible change to the ordinance.
