JANUARY 7, 1974 3 <br /> Motion made by Lease, seconded by Leroux- to increase the clerk' s salary <br /> from q8270.00 per month to 1300.00 per month. Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Crever asked the clerk if he intended on doing the assessment rolls <br /> for the new sewer, and the clerk said this should be hired, but he would <br /> certainly help. The clerk also mentioned having a charge for assessment <br /> searches be put in an ordinance, as there will be quite a. few with the <br /> new sewer coming in. <br /> Motion made by LaValle, seconded by Leroux to increase deputy clerk's <br /> salary from x}2.50 to ',,>3.00 per hour. Don Lease stated he thought another <br /> week of paid leave should be given the deputy, making a total of two weeks. <br /> Motion restated to increase deputy clerk' s salary from $2.50 to $3.00 per <br /> hour, and add one more week of paid leave. Motion carried. <br /> Motion made by Lease, seconded by Leroux to se.t .treasurer' s salary at <br /> $700.00 per year. Motion carried. <br /> Regarding hall maintenance, mayor Crever had contacted the present man, <br /> and he said he doesn't care if he has the job or not. The mayor then <br /> contacted his neighbor, Don Kalsnes, and he was interested. <br /> Motion made by Crever and seconded to hire Don Kalsnes as a mAintenance <br /> man for the village hall at a salary of $40.00 per month. Motion carried. <br /> License application approvals for Pioneer Club were brought up by clerk <br /> Burkard. The council felt that all licenses had been transferred at the <br /> last meeting, but the minutes stated only liquor licenses had been trans- <br /> ferred. LaValle stated that according to ordinance, Perzichilli' s checks <br /> could not be refunded. This is to be brought up later in the meeting. <br /> Engineer Howard Kuusisto had compiled a written report which he gave to <br /> council and explained certain points. He said the advertisement for the <br /> sanitary sewer bids is ready to publish, and bids could be opened on Feb- <br /> ruary 4th. He also said there is an alternate location being chosen for <br /> the pumping station on G-eneva Avenue. Vern Peloquin stated if he sells <br /> land for the pumping station, he wants assurance he will be able to sell <br /> the remaining parcel of land. Kuusisto, Peloquin, and Spitzer discussed <br /> this further. <br /> Motion made by LaValle and Leroux seconded to advertise for bids for the <br /> sanitary sewer system for the City of Hugo, with bids to be opened February <br /> 4, 1974 at 1 :00 PM daylight savings time. Motion carried. This would be <br /> published January 10th and January 17th. <br /> Attorney Johnson had prepared a written report which he gave to the <br /> council for review. He stated several sewer easements ha.d been signed and <br /> others are being negotiated. Johnson also had a separate list showing the <br /> status of easements. <br /> Clerk Burkard reported a _letter had been received from the Rice Creek <br /> Watershed Board regarding approval of a permit application for the White <br /> Bear Rod & Gun Club, with reclamation of lead shot. <br /> He also notified council of the following; the second one half taxes, <br /> $19,973.00 had been received from the County; Tom LaValle and George <br /> Indykiewicz had been notified of their need for mining permit renewals; <br /> the village pumped 17,513,000 gallons of water in 1973; there is to be a <br /> conference for newly elected officials at the Ramada Inn in Arden Hills <br /> on Saturday, January 26, 1974; all voter registration cards were delivered <br /> by the clerk to Tom Greeder, ?./ash ington County Auditor. <br />
