NOVEKEBER 39 1975 <br />V. Peloquin representing the American Legion, said they would be <br />opposed if they were assessed. Stated that they did not need the <br />water and that the _land would be used for parking. Financially they <br />could not afford it, the sewer assessment was enough of a burden. <br />M. Carlson also stated that as a representative of the Legion Club, <br />they could not afford it and that the land would, in his estimation, <br />would never be buildable for anyone to be interested in water. <br />Mr. Ray Erickson, 14862 Foxhill Avenue No. said it would be of no benefit <br />to him also couldn't afford it along with the other assessments. <br />MOTION: Lease made motion, Schletty seconded to close the Public <br />Hearing at 8:24 P.M. <br />VOTING FOR: Lease, Leroux, Smith and Schletty. <br />MOTION CARRIED <br />Mayor Lease reopened the meeting at 8:25 P.M. <br />MINING PERMIT - R. SCHUH - SPECIAL USE PERMIT - DURAINE <br />Duraine Permit expired on September 30, 1975. The pit was never <br />brought back to grade. Councilman Smith said the pile should not <br />be removed. Attorney Johnson said if legal action was to be taken, <br />the obligation would be removed. <br />MOTION: Schletty made motion, Smith seconded to table the Special <br />Use Permit and Mining Permit, Duraine and Schuh until the <br />next meeting of November 17 when Attorney Johnson will have <br />a report. <br />VOTING FOR: Lease, Leroux, Smith and Schletty. <br />MOTION CARRIED <br />5.3 R. RICCI - BUILDING PERMIT <br />MOTION: Lease made motion, Leroux seconded to have Building <br />Inspector Crever issue a Building Permit to R. Ricci <br />for the continuation of building his home with the <br />contingency that the survey be in by December 1, 1975 <br />or a report thereof. <br />Mr. Ricci informed the Council that the mortgage company, <br />First State Bank of Hugo has been informed of the re -platting. <br />VOTING FOR: Lease, Leroux, Smith and Schletty. <br />MOTION CARRIED <br />5.4 CETA APPLICATION - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />MOTION: Schletty made motion, Smith seconded granting approval to <br />Police Department to proceed with the CETA program for <br />a patrolman. <br />Council wanted the chief to make the applicant clear that when <br />the grant time has run out, the City would not be responsible <br />for continuation of employment. <br />
