APRIL 5, 1976 <br /> MOTION: Smith made motion, seconded by Schletty to issue a minim <br /> permit to Richard Schuh with the conditions as outlined <br /> previously and with the changes as indicated, to expire <br /> June 1 , 1977. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Leroux, Schletty, and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5.3 S. ASHBY - HUGO RESIDENTS NEAR FOXHILL <br /> Presented bills to City Council for residents' mufflers, car paint <br /> jobs towing, etc. , because of the muddy road conditions. LaValle <br /> told her she could present the bills to the clerk for payment but the <br /> Council will not pay them. The group will also file for property tax <br /> reduction because they haven't had paved road for past three years. <br /> Told her she could appear before Board of Review on May 20, 1976. <br /> 5,4 DOG CATCHER APPLICATION <br /> Dean Good of Stacy discussed dog catcher service for Hugo. Was told <br /> there are no funds at present for this type of service-Good said <br /> by licensing of dogs the funds could be raised-Council recommended <br /> discussing the matter at next budget meeting-Good said he would pick <br /> up dogs on an emergency basis for time being. Council asked him to <br /> send in written proposal of his services. <br /> 6.0 REPORTS OF OFFICERS & COMMITTEES <br /> 6.1 ORDINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> 6.1 .1 DRIVEWAY ORDINANCE <br /> To be handled by the building inspector, or in some cases <br /> by City Engineer at descretion of building inspector. In <br /> cases where there is a problem or dangerous situation with <br /> an existing driveway a certain time would be allowed to cor- <br /> rect the situation. Nngineer said there are several driveways <br /> that need corrective work or they will present street pro- <br /> blems. Culverts must be installed if required by the City <br /> Engineer, at owners expense. City will not stockpile or <br /> furnish culverts. LaValle would like to see as many existing <br /> driveways brought up to standard as possible. Building In- <br /> spector will inspect the layout and if there is a problem, <br /> will refer to the city Engineer. Attorney said proposed <br /> ordinance, as written, doesn't prohibit driveway from being <br /> built without a permit. <br /> 6.2 PLANNING COMMISSION - SHEPHERD OF THE FIELDS CHURCH <br /> Has obtained verbal OK from Rice Creek-but no official letter-to <br /> be handled as minor subdivision-Peloquin to make application for a <br /> minor subdivision and appear at April 19th meeting for action on it. <br /> Peloquin said boundary stakes near substation are removed - Kuusisto <br /> will take care of matter. <br /> 6.3 WATER SUPERINTENDENT <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, Schletty seconded, to instruct the <br /> Water Superintendent to attend the Waterworks Seminar at <br /> the Thunderbird Motel on April 6-8th. City will re-imburse <br /> for the registration fee and mileage. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Leroux, Schletty, and Smith. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Mr. Burkard inquired about obtaining remote water meters. Instructed <br /> to prepare a recommendation for the cost of remote reading meters- <br /> will city absorb cost for all or part? <br /> 6.4 SEWER REPORT - No report <br /> 6.5 BUILDING INSPECTOR <br /> Re; : Joseph Gregoire-Trailer has been moved in on property but sewer <br /> system has not been updated according to requirements-septic tank <br /> plus absorption area is required, <br />
