, <br /> ` <br /> (6 ) Where trench bottoms terminate entirely in natural <br /> ! �� ' soils, fill to achieve required cover may be placed at <br /> the time of system installation . <br /> (7) Where trench bottoms are required to terminate in fill , <br /> such fill shall be placed without compaction and <br /> allowed to settle for a period of at least twelve ( 12) <br /> months. After settlement, soil shall be tested and <br /> data submitted for approval . <br /> (8) Where fill is placed to achieve adequate separation <br /> from the water table, a minimum of three (3) <br /> observation wells shall be placed within the filled <br /> area as follows: <br /> a. Install one ( 1 ) inch to four (4) inch diameter, <br /> solid pipe, to a minimum depth of six (6) feet <br /> below final grade and three (3) feet below design <br /> depth of system, capped above ground surface. <br /> b. Bore hole for pipe a minimum of four (4 ) inches <br /> larger than the diameter of the pipe. <br /> c . Set pipe on two (2) inches of pea gravel , with six <br /> (6) inches of gravel extending up around outside <br />! of pipe bottom. <br /> ' ` <br /> � <br /> d . Fill around remainder of pipe and compact at <br /> | ground surface. <br /> e. Observations shall be made by a certified soil <br /> tester as follows: <br /> ( 1 ) First observation to be made within two (2) <br /> weeks after frost is absent and every seven <br /> (7) days thereafter until June 1st, or until <br /> the site is determined to be unacceptable, <br /> whichever comes first. <br /> (2) If water is observed after the frost is <br /> absent, or at any other time, an observation <br /> shall be made one ( 1 ) week later' If water is <br /> present at both observations, monitoring can . <br /> cease since the site is unacceptable. <br /> . <br /> (3) If water is not present at the second <br /> observation , monitoring shall continue until <br /> June 1st.
