Nr . <br /> PIP" <br /> ( 5) A site which is saturated at or above the critical <br /> depth of seven (7) consecutive days or more in a normal <br /> / spring season ( preceded by six (6) months of <br /> precipitation which is at a minimum normal for the <br /> area) is an unacceptable site. <br /> 501 .03 ' Experimental systems. Systems utilizing innovative <br /> techniques or methods may be considered for new development under the <br /> following conditions: <br /> ( 1 ) System being proposed is substantiated by engineering <br /> data. <br /> (2) System is in compliance with Minnesota Pollution <br /> Control Agency rules. <br /> (3) An adequate area of suitable soils as required for <br /> standard systems is identified and reserved on the <br /> site. <br /> (4) Performance monitoring of the system, including but not <br /> limited towater /usemeteriog` effluent quality and <br /> system maintenance are provided . <br /> ( 5) Failure of experimental system to function or to <br /> properly treat Sewage will require discontinuation of <br /> „ <br /> use and replacement with an acceptable alternative. <br /> 502. Permitted alternative systems. <br /> 502.01 . Sewage treatment beds. Where existing developed sites <br /> are limited in area so as to preclude installation of a Standard <br /> trench System, a sewage treatment bed may be considered subject to <br /> the following conditions: <br /> ( 1 ) Soil and site conditions shall be evaluated and system <br /> sized and located as prescribed by this Ordinance for a <br /> Standard System. <br /> (2) Bed construction shall be limited to areas having an <br /> natural slope of six (6) percent or less. <br /> (3) Excavation for beds shall be by back hoe or other' means <br /> that allows equipment wheels or tracks to remain on <br /> surface soil ' Excavation equipment or other vehicles <br /> shall not be driven on the soil treatment area' <br /> (4 ) Gravity distribution pipes in beds shall be uniformly <br /> spaced no more than five ( 5) feet apart and not more <br /> , <br /> than thirty (30) inches from the sidewalls of the bed . <br /> ( 5) Distribution of Sewage effluent may be by gravity or <br /> pressure distribution .
