There shall be no physical connection between 1 <br /> sewers and water supply systems' Sewers shall be <br /> .' -/ set back from water supply systems and piping as <br /> , � required for building sewers- (See 404 .01 ) Where <br /> it is not possible to achieve proper separation <br /> distances, the sewer connections shall be <br /> watertight and pressure tested . <br /> (4 ) Pumps and pump stations. <br /> a. Pump stations shall be watertight. <br /> b. Pump stations shall be provided with manhole <br /> access flush with or above grade, with covers <br /> constructed so as to prevent unauthorized entry. <br /> c . Pumps and pump stations shall be sized to handle <br /> peak system flows. <br /> d . Each pumping station shall be provided with an <br /> alarm system which will warn of pump failure, <br /> overflow or other malfunction . <br /> ( 5) Maintenance. <br /> a. All property owners using a collector system and <br /> common drainfield shall assure, through use of <br /> personnel or approved equivalent means, that the <br /> system will be adequately maintained throughout <br /> its useful life. The system so maintained <br /> includes but is not limited to common drainfields, <br /> common individual sewage tanks, pumps, pump <br /> stations, and common sewers. <br /> b. The permitting authority shall be provided the <br /> right of access to any and all components of a <br /> common system for the purpose of periodic <br /> maintenance and operational inspection . <br /> c . In the event of uncorrected deficiencies which <br /> pose an immediate hazard to the public health or <br /> welfare, the governing body may take such <br /> corrective actions as are necessary to mitigate <br /> the hazard . Costs incurred in such event shall be <br /> paid by the system owners. <br /> 502.04. Sewage osmosis. The electroosmosis system (a <br /> proprietary installation process under U.S. and Canadian patents) may <br /> be considered for installation on previously developed sites or sites <br /> meeting the criteria for experimental systems. <br /> ( 1 ) Standards and criteria for approval . <br /> , . a. Sewage osmosis installations shall comply with all <br /> _-: applicable requirements for Standard Systems <br /> contained in this Ordinance as pertain to system <br /> 35 <br /> 2 <br />� <br /> N6 <br />
