ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A PLANNING COMMISSION TO PL.W- FOR THE <br />PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE VILLAGE OF HUGO. <br />The Village Council of the Village of Hugo hereby ordains: <br />Section 1. ESTABLISHMENT OF COMiMISSION. A Village Planning <br />Commission for the Village of Hugo is hereby established. <br />Section 2. COMPOSITION. The Planning Commission shall be <br />composed as follows: <br />Subd. A. Members. The Planning Commission shall <br />consist of seven 7) members appointed by the Village <br />Council, and each member shall be a resident of the <br />Village of Hugo. <br />Subd. B. Ex Officio Member. Each year the Mayor <br />shall appoint one T1) member of the Village Council <br />to serve as a non-voting, ex officio member of the <br />Planning Commission. <br />Subd. C. Advisors. The Village Attorney, Village <br />Engineer, and the Village Building Inspector shall <br />be official advisors to the Planning Commission. The <br />advisors shall attend Planning Commission meetings <br />upon request, and shall be compensated therefor in <br />a manner or at a rate agreed upon between the advisor <br />and the Village Council. <br />Section 3. TERM OF OFFICE. Of the members of the Planning <br />Conimission first appointed, one (1) shall be appointed for the <br />term of one (1) year, two (2) for the term of two (l) years, two <br />(2) for the term of three (3) years, and two (2) for the term of <br />four (4) years, each term commencing the first day of January in <br />the year of appointment. Their successors shall be appointed for <br />terms of four (4) years. Both original and successive appointees <br />shall hold their offices until their successors are appointed and <br />duly qualified. Tne terms of office of ex officio members shall <br />correspond to their respective official tenures. <br />Section 4. VACANCIES. Vacancies occurring during the term <br />shall be filled by the Village Council for the unexpired portion <br />of the term giving rise to the vacancy. <br />Section S. OATH OF OFFICE. Every appointed member of the <br />Planning Commission shall, before entering upon the discharge of <br />his duties, take an oath that lie will faithfully discharge the <br />duties of his office. <br />
