<br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Smith,to approve the chage
<br /> of the city's lighting system from flourescent to sodium
<br /> throughout the entire city of Hugo with the understanding
<br /> that it is to be done with no cost to the City for the
<br /> changeover.
<br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty and Smith.

<br /> Clerk stated Tree Inspector Beach reported there are sixteen trees
<br /> across from the KC Plaza which have dutch elm disease - property
<br /> owner refused to remove them - Beach feels City should take action
<br /> against property owner. Clerk advised to send letter informing
<br /> them that if the diseased trees are not removed, the City will take
<br /> action against them.
<br /> Clerk reported that at the July 26, 1976 meeting, Resolution # 1976-47
<br /> was passed borrowing $20,000 from the Water Sinking Fund and trans-
<br /> ferring to the Storm Sewer Construction Fund - 1975-1 . It was learned
<br /> however, that there would be a total of $500.00 lost between the
<br /> loss of interest and penalty, City Treasurer ixo.tead took out loan
<br /> for only $10,000 at 8% in anticipation of assessments payment, a
<br /> loan of six month.
<br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by LaValle, to pass Resolution
<br /> #1976-48, cancelling Resolution #1976-47.
<br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty and Smith.

<br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Schletty, to pass Resolution
<br /> #1976-49 authorizing a loan at the First State Bank of
<br /> Hugo for $10,000 at 8% interest, payable in six months,
<br /> with a renewal clause of an additional six months, which
<br /> was negotiated by Treasurer George Bernier and Councilman
<br /> Marvin LaValle.
<br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, LaValle, Leroux, Schletty and Smith.

<br /> BINGO ORDINANCE - Information regarding the licensing of Bingo given
<br /> to City Attorney for his study.

<br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Schletty, to hold a public
<br /> hearing for Extended Water Line Project 1976-1 , from 148th
<br /> Street and Freeland to the east property line of the church;
<br /> hearing to be held at 7:30 P.M. on September 7th, 1976.
<br /> Engineer to prepare specs so clerk can call for bids.

<br /> Engineer stated city will call for two inch water service, since
<br /> church will be using Sloan water valves. Church will contact con-
<br /> tractor following day to see if two inch water service will be
<br /> adequate. Bids to be called for first meeting in September - 8:00
<br /> P.M. on September 7, 1976.
