SEPTERMBER 7, 1976 <br /> MOTIOIi: Lease made motion, seconded by Smith, to adopt Resolution <br /> 1976-52, awarding contract on Watermain Improvement Project <br /> 76-1 (Shepherd of the Fields) to LaValle Excavating, Hugo, <br /> Minnesota 55038, for $5,653.44. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, Smith, Schletty and Leroux <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 6.0 REPORTS OF OFFICERS & COMMITTEES <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> Only new business was the hiring of Mary Ann Creager as new Planning <br /> Commission secretary. <br /> WATER SUPERINTENDENT <br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Schletty, approving the purchase <br /> of nozzle section and three gaskets to repair leaking <br /> hydrant. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, Smith, Schletty and Leroux <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> POLICE CHEIF <br /> MOTION: Lease made motion, seconded by Leroux, authorizing Police <br /> Chief Robert Barth to attend the Bureau of Criminal <br /> Apprehension Firearm Shooting course to be held September <br /> 13-17, 1976, at no charge to the city of Hugo. <br /> VOTING FOR: Lease, Smith, Schletty and Leroux <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> ATTORNEY <br /> Attorney Johnson will get an opinion from the Attorney General's <br /> office regarding 10 acre agricultural property not requiring a <br /> building permit. <br /> Mannuel Peloquin would like the city to take over the maintenance of <br /> North 122nd Street. Matter is being reviewed. <br /> Clerk instructed to write a letter to Mr. Morris Jespersen asking <br /> why he did not comply with the council's recommendations regarding <br /> the 88' set back of his pole shed. <br /> Neil Buschmann - permit not issued because structure appears to be <br /> unfit and structurally unsound. Mr. Buschmann was advised to get a <br /> cost to see if it would be feasible to move the building, and what <br /> the costs would be to bring the building up to code. Mr. Buschmann <br /> should then submit an itemized list and a complete set of specs to <br /> Tom Crever for study. <br /> Meeting recessed 9:35 P.M. Meeting reconvened at 9:50 P.M. <br /> Sunset Lake - installation of culvert to be started Thursday. <br /> Engineer and Attorney to draw up easement papers for Mr. Mastroddi <br /> and Mr. Gruett regarding the drainage. <br /> Schletty still has not heard from Fisher. Another possible source <br /> of gravel would be the Barton pit. If purchase agreement is not <br /> reached soon with either of these, the Council will negotiate with <br /> some other source. <br /> CLERK <br /> DNR has requested permission to use the city hall for a public <br /> hearing the first week of October - not to exceed four hours. <br /> The prospective hearing is in regard to the Egg Lake dumping <br /> problem with Saniti & Kobler being in violation. Councilman <br /> LaValle or Mayor Lease to represent the city. <br />
