APRIL 18, 1977 33 <br /> Letters were received from Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Washington County <br /> Board of County Commissioners regarding a proposed chemical waste disposal facility. <br /> A meeting will be held for Washington County at 7:30 P.M., Monday, April 25, 1977, <br /> to inform local officials of the site selection process. Mayor LaValle and Dan <br /> Spitzer will be attending. <br /> The Brevig dike matter will be discussed at a later date after more study is done <br /> by Mayor LaValle and Howard Kuusisto. <br /> Mrs. Wanned was present on behalf of the Hugo Brownies. They would like permission <br /> to plant two evergreens on the northwest corner of the park. They would also like <br /> permission to build a fire for the girls for May 14th, so they can roast hotdogs. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the Girl Scouts be <br /> allowed to plant trees on the northwest corner of the park. Mr. Vail <br /> to contact the railroad regarding the upgrading of the *racks on 145th <br /> Street and County Road 4. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> An aggregate seminar will be held on April 27, 1977, form 9:00 A,M. to 4:00 P.M. at <br /> McGuire's in Arden Hills. Barton Contracting would pay the fee for whoever would like <br /> to attend. Howard Kuusisto will contact Howard Schletty about their attending this <br /> seminar. <br /> The Goiffon gravel pit should be placed on the May 2, 1977, City Council for further <br /> discussion. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the Board of Review will <br /> meet at Hugo City Hall on May 20, 1977, from 9:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., and <br /> all City Council members are urged to attend. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that Mr. Vail be authorized <br /> to purchase 120' of 6' fence and aggrelime for the ballfield. Price not <br /> to exceed $300.00. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Larry Irsfeld inquired as to whether the council would be interested in subscribing to <br /> the Small Towns Institite at a cost of $25.00 a year. <br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by LaValle, that the City of Hugo subscribe <br /> to Small Towns Institute for a period of one year to judge its benefits. <br /> VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Vail, and Irsfeld <br /> VOTING AGAINST: LaValle <br /> ABSTAINED: Schletty <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Larry Irsfeld will act as coordinator to try to set up a special meeting to review the <br /> Systems Statement as presented by Metro Council. A tentative date of April 26, 1977, <br /> was selected. Carl Dale is to be informed of the date officially chosen. <br /> George Koland is to dig a ditch to the east of 14255 Hyde Avenue, as well as on 142nd <br /> Street. <br /> Grace Development presented a petition requesting the extension of water to four lots on <br /> County Road 8A. LaValle stated that the usual procedure would be to do a prelimanary <br /> estimate of what it would cost, and then go through the necessary public hearings. <br /> Charles Johnson will check on the requirements, and report later. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, to adjourn at 10:34 P.M. <br /> All aye.
