, UNE 20, 1977 <br /> 4Y-x MOTION: Schletty made motion, seconded by LaValle, that we accept the <br /> proposal of Berwald Roofing for a price notto exceed $200.00 to <br /> repair roof leak. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: Vail made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, that the City of Hugo accept <br /> the Employee Assistance Program, as presented by Mr. Harvey Carmen, <br /> Washington County Human Services. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Mr. Ed Leroux has stated that he will accept the assessor's job for one more year <br /> (1977-1978), and would like a deputy. LaValle felt Hugo would need the county's <br /> approval to appoint a deputy assessor. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Schletty, to appoint Ed Leroux <br /> assessor for the year 1977-1978 to work in conjunction with the <br /> Washington County Assessor's Office. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> A letter dated June 13, 1977 was sent from the Metro Council stating the availability <br /> of Home Improvement Grant Funds. The City of Hugo has been allocated $3,630.00. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, to adopt RESOLUTION 1977-9, <br /> A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AuThURIZING THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL HOUSING <br /> AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO APPLY FOR REHABILITITION GRANT FUNDS OF <br /> THE HOME IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY OF HUGO. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> POTION CARRIED <br /> Sylvester Nistler was present inquiring as to whether he could get a variance on side <br /> lot dimensions. He was told to attend the next Planning Commission meeting of June <br /> 22, 1977. <br /> Recessed 9:35 P.M. Reconvened 9:45 P.M. <br /> Pclice Chief Barth presented a letter from Fred Feuerpfeil, Grants Coordinator, <br /> stating that the hiring of a patrolman will no way have an effect on any other or <br /> future CETA positions for Hugo. LaValle suggested that in the future, Mr. Barth work <br /> with the city before going directly to the county. Schletty wanted the minutes to read <br /> that the city will not be responsible for the patrolman's position if the CETA grant <br /> is terminated. <br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by Vail, that we apply for a position <br /> for a patrolman under CETA Title II P.S.E. Prow= (Public Service <br /> Employee). <br /> VOTING FOR: Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> VOTING AGAINST: LaValle <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Mr. Barth and Mr. Jensen are to be present at the next City Council meeting July 5, 1977, <br /> with a letter of acceptance from the county. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, that the vacation of Robert <br /> Barth be approved. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, SchlEtty, Irsfeld, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Schletty, that we amend the reserve pro— <br /> gram for the City of Hugo. The number of reserve strength in the depart— <br /> ment, at this time, is not to exceed 6 employees.
