JULY 5, 1977 57 <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Schletty, that we renew the Mining <br /> Permit for Richard Schuh until June 1, 1978, subject to the same <br /> conditions as last year's permit. <br /> VOTING .FOR: LaValle, Schletty, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5.7 Dale Palmer — Nuisance violation <br /> The city had received a complaint from Palmer's neighbor stating there were quite a <br /> number of vehicles on that property. Mr. Palmer was issued an abatement, which was <br /> handled improperly. Palmer stated that he collects antique cars and restores them, <br /> and is planning to construct a building to store these cars. He hopes to have the <br /> building completed by September 1, 1977. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Schletty, that the complaint against <br /> Dale Palmer be stayed until November 1, 1977 for any city action. Mr. <br /> Palmer has agreed to try and solve the problem. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 6.0 REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES <br /> 6.1 Ordinance Committee — No discussion <br /> 6.2 Planning Commission — No discussion <br /> 6.3 Water Superintendent — No discussion <br /> 6.4 Building Inspector <br /> Mayor LaValle told Tom Crever that the Planning Commission recommended that the perc <br /> test should be left open at the Bramstedt site for Washington County to test. Three <br /> one acre lots have never been approved on the corner of County Road 8A,and Goodview. <br /> LaValle suggested that Crever call Harold Bramstedt and tell him he may not have an <br /> approved lot. Tom Crever investigated the driveway constructed at the LaMotte Tourist <br /> Camp, and the driveway will block drainage. Mr. Crever was instructed to contact the <br /> new owner and have him complete a driveway application for a permit. <br /> 6.5 Fire Chief — No discussion <br /> 6.6 Police Chief — Letter of acceptance <br /> Police Chief Barth presented a letter from Washington County stating the acceptance of <br /> Michael Jensen under CETA, Title II. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Vail, that we hire Michael Jensen, <br /> Hugo Police Department, under the Washington County Employee Training <br /> Act, Title II, from July 5, 1977 until September 30, 1978, at $815.00 <br /> a month. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> Police Chief — cont. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Vail, that the police Chief handle <br /> the application for reimbursement for BCA training that Mr. James <br /> Pure attended. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, and Vail <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 6.7 Attorney, <br /> Mr. Johnson reviewed the bingo ordinance.
