FEBRUARY 21 , 1978 5 7 <br /> 6.0 ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, to adopt <br /> RESOLUTION 1978-22, A RESOLUTION THAT THE ACT TO EXPAND <br /> THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FROM FIVE <br /> TO SEVEN MEMBERS IS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE <br /> IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 7.0 UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> 7.1 Mr. Burkard — McCarthy Well <br /> Mr. Burkard has stated that there will be no inspection of the underground <br /> pump until 1979. At that time, he will get bids for the cost of the project. <br /> 8.0 NEW BUSINESS <br /> No discussion <br /> 9.0 CLERK <br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by Schletty, that Renee Larson <br /> be bonded as city employee. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 10.0 MISCELLANEOUS <br /> Mr. Charles Shubat was present and stated that he has been unable to get <br /> Mr. Clifford Axelson to sign any papers stating his willingness to give <br /> a 16i' easement for a road. He has given his oral approval. Mr. Shubat <br /> offered his alternatives to resolve the matter. He suggested that the <br /> road be jogged slightly and take the 66' from Mr. Schuneman, or grant <br /> a variance leaving one rod width on each side. <br /> MOTION: LaValle, made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, that the City <br /> of Hugo grant preliminary approval of the extension of 130th <br /> Street with a temporary turn around and temporary easement. <br /> The width has been determined as a cartway, and Mr. Shubat <br /> shall show on the plat 33' title to the City of Hugo south <br /> of the section line. (An easement for road purposes above <br /> and across the North 33' of the NE* of the NWI of Section 33, <br /> Township 31 , Range 21 . <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> City Attorney, Johnson, met with Howard Kuusisto, Mr. James Brevig, and <br /> Mr. Geck, Brevig's attorney, regarding the Vail/Brevig dike dispute. Mr. <br /> Brevig has agreed to allow the city to enter his property to remove the <br /> dike. This would be considered as a partial solution to the problem. A <br /> permit from Rice Creek will al so have to be obtained. Mr. Brevig has <br /> asked that the over flow structure be moved from the center of the dike. <br /> He also asked that existing natural foliage tried to be saved. Mr. Johnson <br />
