MARCH 5, 1979 31 Fire Chief con't VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty and Vail The Fire Chief also requested approval to send three firemen to the State Convention in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, on June 21 , 22, 23, 1979, and for the city to incur the cost of mileage, registra- tion fees, and lodging. MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by Schletty, to authorize the payment of mileage and registration for three firemen to attend the State Convention in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty and Vail MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by Schletty, directing the Fire Chief to obtain lodging rates in the Grand Rapids area and present figures to the City Council. VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty and Vail MOTION CARRIED MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, authorizing payment of $40.00 each, per day, for three firemen to attend the convention. VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty and Vail MOTION CARRIED 6.7 Attorney Mr. Johnson submitted his monthly report. Mr. Kuusisto will check on the guidelines relating to the proposed 208 Area Wide Plan as presented by the Metro Council. Bids have been advertised for the construction of bathroom facilities on city property. 6.9 Clerk The city has received requests from residents to burn on their prop- erty. It was suggested that the City Clerk check with PCA as to the current status for the issuance of Burning Permits. The City Clerk stated that the city could be responsible for costs for tree inspection within the city. LaValle stated that it was a risk that the city would have to take. 6.6. Police Chief Chief Barth submitted his monthly report. The city has been made aware of an Off-Road Rally with Schmidty's 61 Club to be used as the starting point. The flyer indicated that three different areas are to be used by the vehicles, but Hugo has not been informed as to the locations of these areas. Chief Barth was instructed to obtain more information regarding this matter.
