APRIL 2, 1979 43 6.5 Fire Chief i Ron Istvanovich, Fire Chief, presented the Council with the Fire Department's Five Year Projection Plan. It was suggested that Mr. Istvanovich obtain cost figures for the proposed improvements. MOTION: Vail made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, to extend the meeting past 11 :00 P.M. All aye. Motion Carried The Fire Chief requested authorization to send four firemen to the State Fire School, on May 18, 19, and 20, 1979, with a registration fee of 30.00/each. MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, authorizing the Fire Chief to send four firemen to the State Fire School on May 18, 19, and 29, 1979, with the registration fee being paid for by the city. The city will also absorb the cost of $)40.00 for each firemen taking off work on Friday and the cost of mileage. MOTION CARRIED 6.6 Police Chief Chief Barth submitted his monthly report. A recommendation had previously been submitted for the swearing in of Reserve Officers. MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by Schletty, to table the recommendation for the appointment of Reserve Officers until April 16, 1979, and requests Chief Barth to attend. VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld and Vail MOTION CARRIED 6.7 Attorney Attorney Johnson submitted his monthly report. Johnson has reviewed the lease from Northwestern Bell, and has no problem with the way it reads now. However, nothing should be done until the bid is awarded. 6.8 Engineer Engineer Kuusisto submitted his monthly report. Kuusisto stated that he has not received a complete drainage plan for the proposed Peloquin subdivision in the Industrial Park. An application has been submitted to Rice Creek regarding the Brevig dike matter. The City Clerk was instructed to check with Rice Creek to determine the status of the application. Councilman Schletty stated that Mr. Paul Raschke is to be contacted by letter requesting that he appear before the Council. The Ordinance Committee will review the Driveway Ordinance to review the possibility of securing some financial guarantee in conjunction with the issuance of the Driveway Permit. 6.9 Clerk MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, setting May 8, 1979, 9:30 AN - 3:30 PM, for the Board of Review.
