MAY 7, 1979 55 6.0 REPORTS OF OFFICERS & COMMITTEES 6.1 Ordinance Committee — No report 6.2 Planning Commission — Appointment of Planning Commission Chairman Mr. Larry Ehret, previous chairman, stated that of the Planning Commission mem— bers, he felt that Mrs. Theodora Peltier was the most objective and attempted to be the most unbiased of the members willing to accept the position. MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by Vail, the appointment of Mrs. Theodora Peltier as Chairperson for the Planning Commission for the remainder of the calendar year 1979. VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld and Vail MOTION CARRIED The Planning Commissien is now to elect a Vice Chairperson. 6.6 Police Chief Chief Barth submitted his monthly report. MOTION: Spitzer made motion, seconded by Irsfeld, to approve the vacation schedule as submitted by Chief Barth. VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld and Vail MOTION CARRIED Chief Barth stated that Marie Connors was able to handle the majority of the routine work in the Police Department. 6A7 Attorney Mr. Johnson submitted his monthly report. Mr. Johnson has been working with Council— man Schletty to remedy the Brevig dike matter. Richard Vail has agreed to the ease— ment situation. Councilman Schletty will attempt to contact Mr. Joebush to clear up the easement matter. The Ordinance Committee is to be notified that they should be working on updating the misdemeanor code. The new limit is $500.00. 6.13 Water Superintendent Mr. Burkard was present at the meeting, and it was determined that an increase in the water and sewer rates would be in order. MOTION: Vail made motion, seconded by Schletty, that the Water Superintendent be requested to prepare a Resolution increasing the minimum water rate by 500 per month. This Resolution to be presented at the meeting of 5/21/79. VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld and Vail MOTION CARRIED
