Page 84
August 4, 1980
Some seeding has already taken place, but more root growth will be required. An
additional culvert will be required on the south side of Clark's driveway. Council-
man Schletty was directed to contact Washington County to obtain a timetable for
completion of the required work and a cost estimate.
5.8 Tom Oswald - Forest Lake Youth Service Bureau
Mr. Oswald was present and stated that he was looking for commitment from Hugo for
financial aid in 1981 . If granted, he would receive matching funds from the state.
Mr. Oswald submitted a summary of costs anticipated for the city ($8,000) .
MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Spitzer, that the City of Hugo enter
into the budget process $2,250.00 for the Forest Lake Youth Service
Bureau. The City Clerk is to forward a letter to Mr. Oswald stating
the city's intended commitment.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld
MOTION CARRIED
5.4 LaMett'i & Sons - Site Plan Approval
LaMetti started construction of a 40 x 300 open shed type building prior to the
issuance of any Building Permit. The structure was constructed 13' from the rear
property line in violation of the City Code. There is a setback requirement of 30' .
Fred Nimmes, secretary of the corporation, was present and stated that he had ob-
tained written approval from the affected property owner but failed to bring with
him to the meeting. There was discussion as to whether the building was located
adjacent the rear or side property line. The ordinance clearly states that the
west property line should be considered rear yard. Mr. Nimmes was instructed to
provide the letter from the adjoining property owner, fill out an application for
variance, and some justification why the building should be located where proposed.
MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by LaValle, to table this matter until
the meeting of August 18, 1980.
VOTING FOR: LaValle., Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld
MOTION CARRIED
6.0 REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES
6. 1 Ordinance Committee
Attorney Johnson was instructed to provide the Ordinance Committee with the new
State Statute regarding subdivision. The Ordinance Committee will again review the
Subdivision Ordinance after receipt of the new information, is also directed to
review the rural and urban taxing districts.
6.2 Planning Commission
Attorney Johnson was instructed to draft a letter to Metro Council with Hugo's comments
regarding the Amendment Procedure for the Comprehensive Plan.
