Page 87 <br /> MINUTES OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL <br /> August 18, 1980 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor LaValle at 7:00 PM. <br /> PRESENT: Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, LaValle, Vail <br /> Minutes of the Special Meeting should be corrected to state that Irsfeld made the <br /> motion to approve with Schletty seconding. Minutes accepted by motion. <br /> 4.0 General claims approved with a motion by Irsfeld, seconded by Spitzer. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> 5.1 Discussion of renewal of Mobile Home Permit for Dan Santanni. Granted 90 days. <br /> 5.2 Discussion of renewal of Mobile Home Permit for Joe Gregoire. Granted 90 days. <br /> 5.3 Discussion of condition of 180th Street. Nancy Gregoire petitioning, but not <br /> present. Schletty had contacted Forest Lake's City Manager, C. Robinson, and <br /> it was his understanding that Forest Lake will do the blading and Hugo will <br /> supply the fill. Schletty will meet "on site" with Forest Lake Officials again <br /> to resolve this problem. <br /> 5.4 Ned Pierce ( 141st and Fondant) appeared before the Council to ask for a variance <br /> to build his garage 12' from Fondant. After discussion, LaValle made a motion <br /> to deny the request on the basis of a "safety hazzard" for his neighbors. Also <br /> to send his money back. Schletty seconded. Motion Carried. The Council sug- <br /> gests setting the garage back 30' and to have a building permit for it. <br /> 5.5 Arnold Gruett asks for an approval of a site plan for a 30 x 60 pole barn for <br /> personal storage to be located at 122nd and Ingersoll. LaValle made motion to <br /> accept this Site Plan. Spitzer seconded. Motion Carried. <br /> 5.6 LaMetti & Sons representative appeared asking for a variance of 30' setback to <br /> 13' for a building. Had been checked out by the State and the Planning Commission. <br /> LaValle made motion to accept this variance. Schletty seconded. Motion Carried. <br /> 5.7 Council discussion of readway drainage problem at 130th (Bald Eagle Industrial <br /> Park) . Spitzer made moiton to negotiate a letter of credit authorizing the <br /> Superintendent to renew action, as appropriate, to correct damage to the <br /> right-of-way. LaValle seconded. Motion Carried. <br /> 5.8 Traeger lease up for renewal. Motion by LaValle to accept this lease for the <br /> same fee for an extension of 12 months. Seconded by Schletty. Motion carried. <br /> 5.9 Garbage licenses approved by Council by motion for Lakes Sanitation and Bellaire <br /> Sanitation for fees paid. <br /> 5.10 Representatives present to request permit for non-intoxicating malt liquor <br /> license for St. John's Catholic Church. Permit granted by Council. <br /> 6.0 Ordinances and Resolutions <br /> Election judges are to be appointed for the primary and general elections. <br /> LaValle made motion to adopt Ordinance 173, AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POLICE <br /> DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITY OF HUGO AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 250 CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE <br /> ENTITLED "POLICE". Spitzer seconded. Motion carried. <br />
