.s•L
November 2, 1981
7.0 ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS - no discussion
8.0 UNFINISHED BUSINESS
8.1 White Bear Paramedic Service
The Council present again discussed the proposed contract with the City of White
Bear regarding compensation for the training of paramedics. The city's pro-
jected cost would be $2200.00. Schletty felt the city should cancel the paramedic
and keep the ambulance. McAllister felt that if the city could lock themselves
into $2200 maximum, obligation would be worth the cost. Attorney Johnson stated:
that the contract could be worded that way. He thought it would be more produc-
tive for the city to discuss the matter with someone in White Bear and then
draft a contract afterward. LaValle added this matter to his list of "to do's".
8.2 Armon Septic System
Mr. Murray had contacted Mayor LaValle regarding the Armon septic system, and
gave the city his blessing to have the matter resolved. The city will now have
to initiate soil testing on the Doug Kruse property, and determine a design for
a new system. McAllister asked the attorney if the city would be liable for
any future problems with the system.. Attorney Johnson stated that the city would
have to work with the property owner on some kind of agreement. He also sug-
gested that the city obtain a letter from the property owner stating approval
for access to his property. Mr. Johnson will contact the bonding company to
notify them of the steps being taken by the city.
MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by McAllister, that the city engineer be
authorized to hire a soils firm to do the necessary. soils testing and
design for an on-site sewage system on the Doug Kruse property, 12616
Ingersoll, pending receipt of Mr. Kruse's permission to go on his
property.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, McAllister, Schletty
MOTION CARRIED
MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Schletty, that the city attorney be
instructed to contact the bonding company by telephone, with a follow-up
letter, again notifying them of the steps planned to rectify the si-
tuation covered by Mr. Monson's bond.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, McAllister, Schletty
MOTION CARRIED
Mayor LaVallestated that the 1982 Budget will be given further consideration at
the Council meeting of 11/16/18.
MOTION: LaValle made motion, seconded by Schletty, that the City Council will
authorize all future purchases, in or out of budget, for non-emergency
items.
VOTING FOR: LaValle, McAllister, Schletty
MOTION CARRIED
