57 MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL June 21 ; 1982 The meeting was called to order by Mayor LaValle at 7:03 PM. PRESENT: LaValle, McAllister, Irsfeld, Vail Also, Attorney Charles Johnson and Engineer Howard Kuusisto ABSENT: Schletty 3.0 APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, McAllister seconded, to approve the minutes of June 7, 1982, as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. 4.0 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS MOTION: McAllister made motion, Irsfeld seconded, to approve the General Claims'for June 21 , 1982, as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. MOTION: McAllister made motion, Irsfeld seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for June 21 , 1982, as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. 5.0 PETITIONS, REQUESTS, COMMUNICATIONS & LICENSES 5.1 Frank Langer Discussion- on Cost Proposal for 1983 Assessing Mr. Langer, Hugo's assessor, was present to discuss the Council's previous action to pay him $3.45/parcel including mileage for 1983 assessments. Mr. Langer had requested $3.60, and stated that this figure was comparable to payments made by Hugo's surrounding communities. Langer felt that it would be a wise decision to equalize this payment. MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, LaValle seconded, to set the assessor's payment for 1983 Real Estate Assessment at $3.60/parcel including mileage. All aye. Motion Carried. Mr. Langer also noted that he needs to be certified every year in order to perform his assessing duties. LaValle suggested that each municipality should pay for their portion of schooling, yearly, rather. than full payment every 3 to 4 years. This way the city could anticipate an annual cost at budget time. 5.2 First State Bank of Hugo - Release of Letter of Credit The bank has a $2,000 Letter of Credit to the City guaranteeingthat the sidewalk damaged during their recent addition would be repaired. The guarantee will expire August 1 , 1982.
