The Hugo Good Neighbor Food Shelf currently operates out of a donated building located at the <br />City of Hugo; however they have outgrown the existing space and ability to serve the number of <br />people who visit the food shelf. They propose to use CDBG funds to assist with acquisition of <br />vacant land for construction of a new food shelf facility in the City of Hugo in summer of 2014. <br />The food shelf served 123 households in 2013 and expects to serve 185 households in 2014 <br />The majority of the clients who use the food shelf (87%) have incomes below 80% area median <br />income (AMI). <br />Three non -housing infrastructure projects goals were identified in the 5 -year Consolidated Plan <br />and one of those goals were met in 2013. This project serves a Medium Consolidated Plan <br />priority and would help the county satisfy another identified infrastructure goal. <br />This project meets a medium priority of the 2011-2014 Consolidated Plan as a non -housing infrastructure <br />project.
