Water Tower Park <br />A. A site visit to the Water Toer Park was completed. Brainstorming about the site and the type <br />of development the commission <br />o <br />wants gave direction. Laurie will contact Chris, Public Works <br />Director, in order to find out how the site needs to function for public works. Concept plans for a <br />small parking lot will be devel ped and presented at the next meeting. <br />II. Council Update <br />A. The City Council approved the donation of $25,000 to the White Bear Lake PTO. Robyn LaCasse <br />and Dave Snyder are working on the joint powers agreement. This should be done shortly. <br />B. The Brochure was approved by Council and Robyn has been finalizing it. The Council wants the <br />Parks Commission to notify the <br />t <br />p <br />m before the Commission approaches any property owners. The <br />owners the Commission wants o approach are the Bernins, LaCasse — the property behindthe old <br />school house, Hauble — the pro erty south of Beaver Ponds park. <br />III. Centerville Trail Plan <br />A. Wayne LeBlanc, Centerville Parks and Recreation, sent a trail plan to the Parks Commission. The <br />main issue for Hugo is the trail connection to Centerville, shown along County Road 8 and <br />connecting to the Hardwood Creek Trail. <br />IV. Park Maps <br />A. The parks map proposal will be on the Council agenda on Monday 4/17/2000. Robyn will speak with <br />Chuck Haas regarding this matter in hopes of getting the proposal heard and authorized. Note: The <br />Council did not approve this request. Another project before the Council to create GIs mapping for <br />the City appears to be duplicating the mapping effort. The Parks Commission will coordinate with <br />this project in order to develop a <br />I" <br />City wide park map. <br />B. A citywide park and trail map ill still be critical to the Commission. A case in point is the issue <br />before the Council on 4/30.
