Beaver Ponds — The play equipment has been installed and is almost ready to be used. All of the
wood chips have been delivered and will be spread soon. The soccer field and the rest of the park
have all been graded and the park is ready to be seeded. The irrigation equipment is installed. An
electrician will hook up the pump and when this is inspected the irrigation will be ready to go. No
seeding will take place until the irrigation is on line. Soccer field protection was discussed. Kids are
already riding bikes on the field and snowmobiles maybe driven over the park in the winter and
disturb the field. Snow fence will be placed around the perimeter of the field as soon as it is seeded.
It will be left there until next year. The decision about how to protect the park and the field in the
future will be decided at a later date.
Site furnishings will be ordered from St. Croix Recreation. The City will be purchasing; 3 benches, 1
accessible picnic table, 2 trash receptacles with covers and anchors, a bike rack, and 4 large rubber
mats to be placed below the swings. The mats should be delivered to the site and the furnishings
should be delivered to City Hall.
The park will be called Beaver Ponds Park and a sign will be installed soon.
Recognition will be given to the volunteers that have helped construct this park and special thanks to
Terry Bergeron, the local builder, who contributed so much time and equipment. The installation
would not have been as successful without his help or the help of all the generous volunteers.
II. Pine View Meadows 2"d Addition — The park dedication requirements were reviewed for this
preliminary plat. The Park Commission recommends that the City Council accept cash in lieu of
land for park dedication. The plat is small and only about 0.6 acres would be dedicated. This area
does not meet the criteria for park size and is not adjacent to land that could be developed as park in
http://www.ci.hugo.mn.us/Parks—Recreation/minutes/Parks07l 10 I.htm 9/19/2007
