Parks Commission Meeting 5-9-01 <br />Minutes <br />Hugo, Minnesota <br />Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Meeting <br />May 9, 2001 <br />6:30 p.m. <br />Firstar Hugo Bank Building <br />SEH No. A-HUG000009.00 <br />Meeting Chair: Robynn LaCasse <br />Minutes By: Laurie McRostie <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />Present: Robyn LaCasse, Peter Pedersen, David Strub, Bunny Peterson, Bronwen Kleissler, <br />Nancy Chelmo, Tom Weidt, Tom Cheesebrow, Chuck Haas, John Rask, Laurie <br />McRostie. <br />Absent: <br />Copies To: Commission Members, Michele Lindau - Community Development Assistant, John <br />Rask- Community Development Director <br />I Bernin Property — The DNR, completing a site visit for the review for the grant application, walked <br />the Bemin site on May 8. John Rask, Laurie McRostie, and Bruce Bernin joined them. Hugo should <br />be hearing from the DNR about the grant in late June. <br />II. Commission Terms - The length of the Commission member's terms was reviewed. Tom Weidt <br />and Tom Cheesebrow began serving four-year terms in April 2001. Pete Pedersen's and Nancy <br />Chelmo's terms will be up in March 31, 2002. <br />III. Moratorium - The City Council extended the development moratorium until February 2002. A <br />portion of Hugo south of CR 8 and North of 125 street and between Goodview Avenue and Hwy 61 <br />is exempt. <br />IV. Beaver Ponds — Plans were made to install the equipment by mid July. We now know that the play <br />equipment has been delivered and is being stored in a garage in the Beaver Ponds development. The <br />install date is Saturday, June 23. Pete Pedersen and Tom Weidt will be leading the project and <br />coordinating the volunteers. <br />V. Egg Lake — The City Council has purchased three properties along Egg Lake, east of Hwy 61.
