Minutes <br />Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Meeting <br />April 14, 2004 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Oneka Room — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Roger Clarke, Jennifer May, Pete <br />Pederson, Jim Keithahn_, Steven Lacher and Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff Chris Petree and Mike Ericson. <br />Consultant: Laurie McRostie. <br />Absent: Tom Weidt. <br />I. Approve Minutes from March 10, 2004 meeting <br />Bailly made a motion, Cheesebrow seconded, to accept the Minutes from the March 10, <br />2004 Parks Commission Meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Introduction of new Park Commissioners <br />Park Commission Chair Kitty Cheesebrow welcomed the two new members of the Park <br />Commission Jim Keithahn and Steven Lacher. The two new members provided a brief <br />insight on their background and how long they have been residents in the City of Hugo. <br />III. Oneka Lake Park (Laurie McRostie) <br />Consultant Laurie McRostie gave an overview of the Oneka Lake Park. Laurie also <br />provided an updated site plan that showed the play structure area and picnic shelter. <br />Laurie then led the Parks Commission through a discussion selecting colors for the play <br />structure and selecting the size, style and color of the picnic shelter. <br />A. Play Structure - Color Selection <br />May made a motion, Clarke seconded, to direct Consultant Laurie McRostie to finalize <br />the color selection for the play structure using a combination of blue and green. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />B. Picnic Shelter Selection <br />Pederson made a motion, May seconded, directing staff to order the Picnic shelter from <br />St. Croix Recreation. Furthermore, that it be Litchfield Industries brand, 28' in diameter <br />hexagonal with a duo -top roof and a cupola. <br />Page 1 <br />
