Minutes <br />Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Meeting <br />February 9, 2005 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Jennifer May, Pete Pedersen, Tom Weidt and <br />Steven Lacher. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director <br />Consultants: Laurie McRostie, Landscape Architect <br />Absent: Roger Clarke and Jim Keithahn (Resigned). <br />I. Approve Minutes January 12, 2005 Meeting <br />Weidt made a motion, Pedersen seconded, to accept the Minutes from the January 12, 2005 Park <br />Commission Meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Creekview Preserve Neighborhood Park Meeting 7:00 pm — 8:30 pm <br />Vendor Presentations (Play Structures) <br />• 7:00 pm: Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground — Harlan Lehman <br />Two representatives from MN/WI Playground attended the meeting and presented a playground <br />proposal that included two options for the Creekview Preserve Neighborhood Park. All equipment <br />proposed is manufactured by GameTime. Option #1 included a large ages 5-12 play structure, a <br />structure for ages 2-5, 2 spring toys and a 2 -swing system. Option #2 included the same 5-12 play <br />structure as Option #1, a 2-5 slide, 1 spring toy, a new stand-alone product called the Glide Board <br />and a 4 -swing system. <br />• 7:30 pm: St. Croix Recreation — Mike Basich <br />Two representatives from St. Croix Recreation attended the meeting and presented a playground <br />proposal that included two options for the Creekview Preserve Neighborhood Park. Option #1 <br />included a large 2-12 play structure manufactured by Big Toys, 2 spring toys, a Galaxy spinning <br />event, a Big Toys Marquee event and a 2 -swing system. Option #2 included a large 2-12 play <br />structure manufactured by WOW, 2 spring toys, a Galaxy spinning event, a Big Toys Marquee <br />event and a 2 -swing system. <br />8:00 pm: Parks Commission and neighborhood selection of vendor & play structure <br />Following the presentations by both vendors the neighbors in the audience were invited to review <br />the designs with the Parks Commission, ask questions and voice their preferences.
