The neighbors also assisted in <br />selecting a color scheme for the structure. The neighbors stated that they would like to see bright, <br />primary colors at this playground. The neighbors unanimously selected the primary color palette <br />Cherry option from the GameTime catalog. <br />Weidt made a motion, Lacher seconded, to select Option #2 as proposed by MN/WI Playground. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />Weidt made a motion, Pedersen seconded, to select the primary color palette Cherry option from <br />the GameTime catalog for colors at this playground. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree reviewed the timeline for construction and projected completion of <br />the Creekview Preserve neighborhood park, informing the neighbors that the park could be completely <br />open for play as early as July 1, 2005. <br />III. Park Fund Committee Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Park Commissioner Lacher provided an update on Park Fund <br />Committees progress. The next meeting is scheduled for February 15, 2005 and an update will be <br />provided at the next Parks Commission meeting. <br />IV. Grant Writing Committee Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Park Commission Chair Cheesebrow provided an update on <br />the Grant writing process. The grant writing committee will not be applying for the Local Trail <br />Connection Grant in 2005 due to time constraints with its funding and the construction timeline for <br />CSAH 8. The City intends to apply for this grant in 2006 to coincide with the construction of CSAH 8. <br />The Outdoor Recreation Grant writing is underway and the Public Works Director shared the <br />preliminary plans for the park at Diamond Point East with the Parks Commission. This preliminary <br />park plan includes a lighted hockey rink, pleasure rink, warming house, parking lot, play structure and <br />trails. This plan will be reviewed in greater detail by the Parks Commission at a future meeting. <br />V. Distribute Zoning Maps & Development Project List <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission with an updated zoning map and a <br />map/list of current developments. <br />VI. Updates <br />A. Planning Commission — None. <br />B. City Council — The City Council selected a name for the Community Room at the new Public <br />Works Facility. It was named The Rice Lake Center. <br />C. Kitty Cheesebrow — None. <br />D. Chris Petree — Announced the resignation of Parks Commissioner Jim Keithahn, effective <br />immediately. The City will be advertising to fill this vacancy. <br />VII. Other — Pete Pedersen: Lions Park Plaque and discuss participation in neighborhood block <br />parties. <br />Park Commissioner Petersen discussed the desire of the Lion's Club to place a plaque at Lions Park <br />honoring founding member of the Parks Commission Kathy Marier. More information about this <br />will come to the Parks Commission at a later date. He also discussed future events planned by the <br />Lion's Club, including their interest in continuing to support the organization of neighborhood block <br />parties. <br />LOCATION — CITY HALL <br />
