Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Minutes <br />March 9, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br />V. 2005 Parks Commission Goals <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Parks Commission Chair Kitty Cheesebrow discussed the Parks <br />Commission goals for 2005. The City Council adopted these goals at their February 7, 2005 meeting. <br />Clarke made a motion, May seconded, to endorse the 2005 Parks Commission Goals as set by the City <br />Council. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />VI. Park Request in Lake Air Estates Area <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree reviewed a letter sent from resident Georgette Deyoung requesting a <br />park on land owned by the City of Hugo in the Lake Air Estates neighborhood. Currently the Parks <br />Commission is reviewing sites for a park in that quadrant of the City and will include this site during <br />their future discussions. The Park Commission will also look at the site during their park tour this <br />summer. Public Works Director Chris Petree will inform the resident of the Parks Commissions <br />discussion. <br />VII. Park Fund Committee Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided an update on the progress of the Park Fund Committee. <br />Also, the City Council adopted the Parks Commission's recommendation to raise the Park Dedication <br />Fee to $2,400 per residential unit or $2,400 per commercial acre. The City Council adopted this fee at <br />their March 7, 2005 meeting. <br />VIII. Grant Writing Committee Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree updated the Parks Commission on the status of the Outdoor <br />Recreation Grant application and informed the Commission that it would be submitted by the March 31, <br />2005 deadline. <br />IX. Updates <br />A. Planning Commission — None. <br />B. City Council — None. <br />C. Kitty Cheesebrow — None. <br />D. Chris Petree — Informed the Parks Commission that play equipment for Frog Hollow Park is <br />scheduled for delivery and installation the week of June 13, 2005. <br />X.
