Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />November 9, 2005 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Pete Pedersen, Roger Clarke, Charles Kirk and <br />Dan Gabrielli. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Absent: Jennifer May <br />Approve Minutes From September 14, 2005 Meeting <br />Clarke made a motion, Pedersen seconded, to approve the minutes from the September 14, <br />2005 Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />Discuss Frog Hollow Park Fence <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission with direction from the City <br />Council to discuss the option of a fence or pictographs at the park as per the LMCIT <br />recommendation letter. The Parks Commission discussed the issue and concluded that they <br />would like to wait a year until any permanent fence/barrier be installed to allow the shrubs to grow <br />and form a natural barrier. In the meantime, the Parks Commission discussed installing a <br />temporary animal netting/fence between the park and the road as well as the installation of <br />pictograph signs for the park. <br />Pedersen made a motion, Clarke seconded, to install a temporary animal netting/fence between <br />the road & the park and to install pictograph signs as per the LMCIT recommendation letter. <br />Also, the City shall wait one year prior to considering the installation of any permanent fence to <br />allow the shrubs to grow to form a natural barrier. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />III. Update on Trail Extension in Victor Gardens 2"d Addition <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Parks Commissioner Charlie Kirk provided an overview of <br />the Victor Gardens 2nd Addition Trail Extension. The developer has agreed to construct the trail <br />and the City Engineer is reviewing the plans for its construction. <br />Pedersen made a motion, Kirk seconded, to support the construction of this trail and direct City <br />staff to finalize the plans for its construction. <br />All Aye.
