Discuss Diamond Point East Park <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree updated the Parks Commission on the status of the park. The <br />sidewalk adjacent to the park property has been poured, the parking lot has been constructed <br />and the rough grading of the site has been completed. Staff is continuing to work with the <br />developer on assisting with the construction of the park. City staff will include this park in the <br />2006 CIP and will begin to finalize plans and specifications for construction at future Parks <br />Commission meetings. <br />V. Park Sign Eagle Scout Project <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided a Power Point presentation of the Park Sign project <br />that was recently completed by Boy Scout Cory Nolan for his Eagle Scout Badge. This project <br />included the installation of four park signs, edging, rock and the installation of 22 perennials at <br />each site. The project was completed to the satisfaction of the City. <br />VI. Update on Oakshore Park <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Parks Commissioner Pete Pedersen discussed the <br />recent neighborhood meeting that took place with the Oakshore Park Homeowners Association. <br />The City continues to work the residents to finalize plans for paving the gravel roads in the area <br />and in return the City would receive the 10 acre park property. The City Attorney and <br />Homeowners Association Attorney will continue to work on this transaction and are hopeful to <br />have the details worked out by next spring. <br />VII. Park Capital Improvements Plan & Parks Commission Goals for 2006 <br />Following a lengthy discussion and careful consideration, the Parks Commission has set its goals <br />and the CIP for 2006. Furthermore, the Parks Commission identified other projects for future <br />years and developed a 5 -year CIP. The following are the results of those discussions. <br />2006: Repayment of Community Gym = <br />$350,000 <br />Diamond Point East Park = <br />$380,000 <br />Beaver Ponds Park Shelter = <br />$40,000 <br />CSAH 8 Possible Trail = <br />$50,000 <br />Portable Toilet Structures = <br />$7,500 <br />New Picnic Tables -Lions Park = <br />$10,000 <br />TOTAL = <br />$837,500 <br />Other goals for 2006: <br />• Parkland acquisition for a large softball complex <br />• Parkland acquisition adjacent to Oneka Lake Park <br />• Funding for Rice Lake Park & Soccer Complex <br />Parkland acquisition for neighborhood park # 6 (along east side of Hwy 61 by Country Ponds) <br />2007: Repayment of Community Gym = $350,000 <br />Oakshore Park — Phase 1 = <br />$150,000 <br />Lions Park Improvements = <br />$150,000 <br />105 Acre Park Improvements = <br />$50,000 <br />TOTAL = <br />$700,000 <br />2008: Repayment of Community Gym = <br />$350,000 <br />Oakshore Park — Phase 2 = <br />$150,000 <br />TOTALS= <br />$500,000 <br />2009: None at this time. <br />2010: None at this time. <br />
