Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />February 8, 2006 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Pete Pedersen <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Pete Pedersen, Charles Kirk, Roger Clarke, Rachel Berger and <br />Jennifer May. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Absent: Kitty Cheesebrow and Dan Gabrielli <br />Approve Minutes From December 14, 2005 Meeting <br />Pedersen made a motion, May seconded, to approve the minutes from the December 14, 2005 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />Introduce New Parks Commissioner Rachel Berger <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree introduced new Parks Commission member Rachel Berger. <br />Parks Commissioner provided an overview of her background and explained her desire to serve <br />the City of Hugo on its Parks Commission. <br />III. Review Wlashin Farms Concept Plan <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided an overview of the Concept Plan for Wlashin <br />Farms. Tim White, Benchmark Development, described the plans in detail outlining the open <br />space, trails and association park area. The Parks Commission expressed to the developer, a <br />desire to acquire additional land adjacent to Sunset Lake. The City currently owns a parcel on <br />the corner of 125th St. N. and Homestead Dr. N. The Parks Commission informed the developer <br />that they would like to consider acquiring the property that is adjacent to the City owned property. <br />The developer stated that they would be willing to consider this option for a possible reduction in <br />their Park Dedication fees. <br />May made a motion, Clarke seconded, directing staff to negotiate with the developer to acquire <br />the property that borders Sunset Lake and is adjacent to the parcel owned by the City. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />IV. Discuss Diamond Point East Park <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided an overview of the Diamond Point East Park <br />Concept Plan.
