Public Works Director Chris Petree will <br />work with the developer and the City's Landscape Architect to finalize plans that include trails, a <br />play structure, gazebo, hard surface court and possible future hockey rink & warminghouse. <br />V. Skate Park Discussion / Volunteers for Community Skate Park Committee <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission of a community skate park <br />committee that has been formed by the White Bear School District Recreation Department and is <br />looking for volunteers to serve on this committee. Skate Park petitioner Joe Rainer was in <br />attendance at the meeting and was invited to attend. Parks Commissioner Clarke volunteered to <br />serve on the committee. The Parks Commission discussed further the desire to construct a <br />skate park in the City and to continue researching sites including Lions Park. <br />Pedersen made a motion, Clarke seconded, to continue researching opportunities for a skate <br />park in Hugo. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />VI. Update on White Bear Lake Community Services Summer Playground Program <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission that the White Bear <br />Recreation summer playground program will be held at Lions Park this summer. <br />VII. Discuss Shelter for Beaver Ponds Park <br />The Parks Commission included the construction of a shelter at Beaver Ponds Park in the 2006 <br />C.I.P. It is the desire of the Parks Commission to construct the shelter this year. <br />Kirk made a motion, May seconded, directing staff to work with Landscape Architect Laurie <br />McRostie to develop a site plan for the construction of a shelter at Beaver Ponds Park. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />VIII. Discuss Portable Toilet Structure Design <br />The Parks Commission discussed options for constructing portable toilet structures at City parks. <br />The Parks Commission directed staff to visit different sites and take pictures of possible options. <br />IX. Discuss Dates for Joint Meeting with City Council <br />The Parks Commission has a desire to hold a joint meeting with the City Council to discuss <br />projects and park funding for 2006. The Parks Commission would be able to meet before their <br />next regularly scheduled meeting on March 8, 2006. Staff will work to coordinate this meeting. <br />X. Other: <br />Parks Commission Chairperson Kitty Cheesebrow informed City staff that she will be resigning <br />from the Parks Commission effective immediately. Parks Commissioner Roger Clarke was <br />selected to serve as acting Chairperson. <br />
