Minutes City of Hugo Joint City Council & Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting March 8, 2006 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers — City Hall Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow Minutes By: Chris Petree Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Pete Pedersen, Charles Kirk, Roger Clarke, Rachel Berger and Jennifer May. City Council: Fran Miron, Becky Petryk, Mike Granger and Chuck Haas. Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly. Staff.- Chris Petree and Mike Ericson Absent: Parks Commission: Dan Gabrielli City Council: Frank Puleo I. Introductions Parks Commissioners and City Council Members introduced themselves to one another indicating where they live and how long they have served the City of Hugo. II. Approve Minutes From February 8, 2006 Meeting Clarke made a motion, Pedersen seconded, to approve the minutes from the February 8, 2006 Parks Commission meeting. All Aye. Motion Carried. III. Review South Arcand Property Sketch Plan The Parks Commission reviewed the sketch plan for the South Arcand Property. The Parks Commission had the following comments: locate the active park area on the north end of the project (closer to existing neighborhoods), use the City's preferred vendors for amenities at the park and provide more contiguous upland for park property. IV. Review Diamond Point East Park Concept Plan Landscape Architect Laurie McRostie provided three concept plans for the neighborhood park in Diamond Point East. The Parks Commission preferred Concept Plan A with the following changes: make all trails 10' bituminous, remove hockey rink and include youth ballfield instead, allow sufficient separation between basketball court and play area. Landscape Architect Laurie McRostie will make the changes to the Concept plan and return to the Parks Commission in April with Preliminary Plans for the park. V.
