Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />May 10, 2006 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Pete Pedersen, Roger Clarke, Dan Gabrielli and <br />Jennifer May. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Consultant: Laurie McRostie, Landscape Architect <br />Absent: Rachel Berger and Charles Kirk <br />I. Approve Minutes From April 12, 2006 Meeting <br />Clarke made a motion, Gabrielli seconded, to approve the minutes from the April 12, 2006 Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Diamond Point Park Neighborhood Meeting 7:00 pm — 8:30 pm <br />7:00 pm: Park Plan Overview & Cost Estimate <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Landscape Architect provided an overview of the park <br />to the Parks Commission and six residents in attendance. This park includes a <br />softball/baseball field, play structures, picnic shelter, half basketball court, sand volleyball court <br />and extensive trail system. <br />Vendor Presentations (Play Structures) <br />• 7:15 pm: St. Croix Recreation — Mike Basich <br />Mike Basich, St. Croix Recreation, presented a proposal for the 2-12 play structure that was <br />manufactured by Playcraft Systems and a teen play area that included a variety of equipment <br />was manufactured by Kompan. <br />• 7:45 pm: MN/WI Playground — Harlan Lehman <br />Harlan Lehman, MN/WI Playground, presented a proposal for the 2-12 play structure that <br />was manufactured by GameTime and a teen play area that included a rock wall and net <br />climber manufactured by RockCraft and GameTime. <br />8:15 pm: Parks Commission and neighborhood selection of vendor & play structure <br />The Parks Commission received comments from the neighbors that were present on the <br />selection of the park equipment. <br />Page 1 <br />
