Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />June 14, 2006 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Roger Clarke, Charles Kirk and Rachel Berger. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Absent: Pete Pedersen, Jennifer May and Dan Gabrielli <br />I. Approve Minutes From May 10, 2006 Meeting <br />Clarke made a motion, Cheesebrow seconded, to approve the minutes from the May 10, 2006 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Parks Projects Funding Committee Update <br />Parks Commissioner Clarke provided an update of the last meeting, which included a request <br />from the committee to form a sub -committee to help coordinate referendum efforts. The Parks <br />Commission then discussed a timeline and the work that needs to be completed for a <br />referendum. <br />Cheesebrow made a motion, Clarke seconded, to advise the Parks Projects Funding Committee <br />not to include a Parks Referendum on the ballot in 2006, but to form a referendum sub- <br />committee that would evaluate the needs and desires of the community and prepare for a <br />referendum in either 2007 or 2008. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />III. 2006 Parks Project Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided a Power Point presentation that update the Parks <br />Commission on the following projects. <br />• Diamond Point Park: Clearing/Grubing is completed, rough grading is completed, concrete <br />curbing is completed, play structure/picnic shelter installation scheduled for July 2006. <br />• Beaver Ponds Park: PW Department will begin hauling fill to the shelter site the week of June <br />19th, picnic shelter installation scheduled for July 2006. <br />• Lions Park: Water Tower #1 has been demolished and all restoration work has been <br />completed, 8 new picnic tables have been placed in the shelter. <br />Page 1 <br />
