Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />August 9, 2006 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Pete Pedersen <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Pete Pedersen, Roger Clarke, Charles Kirk and Rachel Berger. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Absent: Kitty Cheesebrow, Dan Gabrielli and Jennifer May. <br />Approve Minutes From July 12, 2006 Meeting <br />Clarke made a motion, Berger seconded, to approve the minutes from the July 12, 2006 Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Washington County — Open Space Funding Referendum (Cordelia Pierson) <br />Information on the Open Space Referendum was not provided to the Parks Commission in time <br />for the August meeting. <br />Berger made a motion, Clarke seconded, to table this item until the September Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />III. Parks & Recreation Discussion with White Bear School District (Dave Guenther) <br />Mr. Dave Guenther, Director of Community Services & Recreation Department for the White <br />Bear Lake School District, was present with his staff to provide an overview of their role in the <br />City of Hugo. Mr. Guenther discussed the various youth, adult & senior enrichment, recreation <br />and athletic programs that are offered by the school district to the residents of Hugo. Mr. <br />Guenther suggested that Parks Commissioners listen to residents suggestions on program <br />offerings and contact him to consider scheduling those programs in Hugo. Also, Mr. Guenther <br />requested that the City of Hugo put an article in a future City newsletter asking the residents for <br />suggestions on new program offerings in Hugo. The Parks Commission thanked Mr. Guenther <br />and his staff for attending the meeting and expressed their interest in working together to create <br />for opportunities for the residents of Hugo. <br />IV. Parks Project Funding Committee Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided an update on the Parks Project funding committee. <br />The Committee met last week and decided that the priority was to update the Parks Master Plan <br />Page 1 <br />
