Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />September 13, 2006 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, <br />Jennifer May. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Absent: Charles Kirk and Rachel Berger. <br />Approve Minutes From August 9, 2006 Meeting <br />Pete Pedersen, Roger Clarke, Dan Gabrielli, <br />Pedersen made a motion, Clarke seconded, to approve the minutes from the August 9, 2006 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />Resignation of Chair Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Parks Commission Chair Kitty Cheesebrow explained her resignation from the Parks <br />Commission due to a job change and increased working hours. Pete Pedersen will act as <br />interim Chair until a permanent replacement can be found. Public Works Director Chris Petree <br />informed the Commission that the City would be advertising for the vacant position on the Parks <br />Commission and that if any members were interested in being Parks Commission Chair, they <br />should send letters of interest to him by September 25th. City Staff will then ask the City Council <br />to appoint a new Chair at their first meeting in October. <br />III. Washington County — Open Space Funding Referendum (Cordelia Pierson) <br />Cordelia Pierson was present representing the Washington County referendum for Preservation <br />of Water Quality, Woodlands and Other Natural Areas. Ms. Pierson presented a Power Point <br />slide show that detailed the referendum that will be on the ballot November 7, 2006. Ms. Pierson <br />also requested that the Parks Commission make a motion to support a resolution by the City <br />Council endorsing this referendum. Following a question and answer session with the Parks <br />Commission the following motion was made. <br />Clarke made a motion, May seconded, to support the Washington County Preservation of Water <br />Quality, Woodlands and Other Natural Areas referendum and recommend that the City Council <br />adopt a resolution of support. <br />All Aye.
