Parks Goal Setting, CIP & Budget for 2007 <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree reviewed the status of the Parks Fund and the proposed CIP. <br />The following changes were suggested by the Parks Commission: remove Lions Park <br />improvements for $50,000(review again for 2008), combine Oakshore Park Improvements for <br />completion in 2007 for ,$300,000, move 105 Acre Park improvements to 2008 and increase the <br />athletic complex land acquisition to $1.5 million. <br />V. Parks Project Funding Committee Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission that City Administrator Mike <br />Ericson has been working on securing a consulting firm to complete a community park/recreation <br />survey of all Hugo residents. The parks project funding committee will be meeting soon to <br />discuss the questions that will be on the survey. <br />VI. 2006 Parks Project Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided on update of the 2006 Parks Projects. <br />• Diamond Point Park: Park is nearing completion. All play equipment, shelters, landscaping <br />and athletic facilities should be completed by the end of September 2006. <br />• Beaver Ponds Park: Landscaping has been completed around the portable restroom area and <br />the shelter will be installed by September 22, 2006. <br />• Oneka Lake Park: Landscaping has been completed around the portable restroom area. <br />• Val Jean Park: It was noted that this City park in the Victor Gardens development now has a <br />completed tennis court available for public use. <br />VII. Parks Commission Tour <br />The Parks Commission will be taking a tour of City Parks during their October 11, 2006 meeting. <br />The Parks Commission will plan on visiting Val Jean Park, Beaver Ponds Park, Diamond Point <br />Park, Oneka Lake Park, Frog Hollow Park and the recreation facilities at Oneka Elementary <br />School. The Parks Commission has directed staff to invite the City Council on this tour and <br />notice the meeting accordingly. The Parks Commission will meet at City Hall at 4 p.m. on <br />October 11th. The tour should last approximately 2 hours. <br />
