Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />March 14, 2007 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Jennifer May <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Jennifer May, Rachel Berger, Melissa Parker and Russ Schmidt. <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Consultant: Laurie McRostie, Landscape Architect. <br />Absent: Roger Clarke, Pete Pedersen and Dan Gabrielli. <br />Approve Minutes From January 10, 2007 Meeting <br />Berger made a motion, Schmidt seconded, to approve the minutes from the January 10, 2007 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Resignation of Parks Commissioner Jennifer May <br />Parks Commissioner Jennifer May informed the Parks Commission that she was resigning from <br />the Parks Commission effective immediately. Parks Commissioner May and her family are <br />building a new house and moving out of the City of Hugo. <br />III. Oakshore Park Project <br />• Project Timeline: Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission <br />with a timeline for the planning process of the Oakshore Park Project. With final <br />acceptance from the City Council expected in June 2007. <br />• Park Naming: The Parks Commission considered a request from the Oakshore Park <br />HOA to officially name the newly acquired park Oak Shore Park. <br />Berger made a motion, May seconded to officially name the newly acquired park property <br />Oak Shore Park. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />Park Concept Plans (Laurie McRostie): Landscape Architect Laurie McRostie <br />provided the Parks Commission with an overview of the park property, which included: <br />explaining the topography of the property and the natural amenities. Ms. McRostie then <br />presented three concept plans for the Parks Commissions consideration. All of the plans <br />included active play areas and fields as well as passive areas. The Parks Commission <br />commented that all of the plans seemed to fit the needs of the surrounding <br />Page 1 <br />
