Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />November 8, 2006 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Roger Clarke <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Roger Clarke, Pete Pedersen, Dan Gabrielli and Rachel Berger. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Absent: Charles Kirk and Jennifer May. <br />Approve Minutes From October 18, 2006 Meeting <br />Pedersen made a motion, Gabrielli seconded, to approve the minutes from the October 18, 2006 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Oneka Elementary Gymnasium Programming (Andrea Wildman Hilal, WBL#624) <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission with a tentative schedule <br />completed by the White Bear School District Recreation & Community Services Department for <br />the Oneka Elementary Gymnasium which includes: Youth Recreational Basketball, Open Gym, <br />Yoga, T'ai Chih and Adult Volleyball. The Parks Commission was pleased with the offerings <br />being programmed and asked that staff follow-up with the school district and ask them to <br />consider offering tennis and/or a racquet sport and Pilates. Furthermore, the Parks Commission <br />appointed Parks Commissioner Rachel Berger to work with Public Works Director Chris Petree <br />and school district officials to develop a "Tot Time" program in the gymnasium. Staff will follow- <br />up with the Parks Commission on these items at the December meeting. <br />III. Washington County Linear Park Plan <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree met with Washington County Parks Planner, John Elholm, to <br />discuss the County's Linear Park Plan. During the meeting Mr. Elholm stated that it was the <br />County's intent to extend the Hardwood Creek Trail to 140th St. N. once the rail corridor was <br />acquired and that the County would encourage the City to work with them for future trail <br />construction and connections. <br />IV. WB Baseball Association <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree met with WB Baseball Association representative John <br />Petersen and discussed opportunities for the Baseball association to partner with the City for use <br />of outdoor fields and indoor practice space.
