Discussion on Heritage Ponds Park <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission with a Power Point <br />presentation detailing the City owned park property in the Heritage Ponds neighborhood. Public <br />Works Director Petree reviewed the improvements that have been completed to date and asked <br />the Parks Commission for input on future improvements. The Parks Commission discussed <br />possible improvements to the site that could potential include a play structure, basketball court <br />and sand volleyball court or other amenities. The Parks Commission decided to discuss this in <br />more detail at the July and August Parks Commission meetings when the 2008 budget and 5 - <br />year Park C.I.P. is re-evaluated. The Parks Commission also discussed naming of the park and <br />the following motion was made. <br />Pedersen made a motion, Clarke seconded, to name this park Heritage Ponds Park and direct <br />staff to order park signs. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />V. Eagle Scout Project - 100 acre park <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Parks Commission Chair Roger Clarke presented the <br />proposed trail alignment to the Parks Commission. <br />VI. 2008 Park CIP & Projects <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree reviewed the current status of the Park Fund and future CIP. <br />The Parks Commission was asked to begin planning for next years CIP and park projects. The <br />Parks Commission requested that this item be re -visited at the July and/or August Parks <br />Commission meetings and that the Parks Commission hold a budgeting session at those <br />meetings. <br />VII. Other: <br />Parks Commissioner Rachel Berger asked that the City's Dog Ordinance be discussed as it <br />relates to dogs on City Property. Parks Commissioner Berger stated that some residents in her <br />neighborhood were concerned with dogs not being under physical control (leashed or verbal) at <br />City neighborhood parks. Parks Commissioner Pedersen also noted that they had issues with <br />dogs not being under physical control at this years Good Neighbor Days held at Lions Park. The <br />Parks Commission discussed this item and reviewed the existing City Ordinance. The Parks <br />Commission made the following motion. <br />Clarke made a motion, Schmidt seconded, to request that the Planning Commission and City <br />Council review the City's existing Dog Ordinance and consider amending it to require that all <br />dogs be leashed while on City owned property. <br />All Aye.
