Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />July 09, 2008 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Call to Order <br />Roger Clarke Called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />Present: Roger Clarke, Melissa Parker, Pete Pedersen, Noel Schmidt, Jim Taylor, Russell <br />Schmidt, Dave Strub <br />Absent: Rachel Berger, Dan Gabrielli <br />Staff Present: Chris Petree - Public Works Director, Scott Anderson — Senior Engineering <br />Technician, Debi Close — Parks Secretary <br />I. Approval of Minutes of May 14, 2008 <br />Pedersen made a motion, Strub seconded to approve the minutes of the May 14, 2008 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Washington County Parks — Big Marine Park Reserve <br />Parks Commission Chair Roger Clarke updated the commission on the Big Marine Park <br />Reserve. The park is located in the northern part of Washington County. It is owned and <br />operated by Washington County and is part of the Metropolitan Council's Regional Park <br />System. Parks Commission Chair Clarke informed of the picnic area, play area, swimming <br />beach, paved trails, shelters and boat launch. <br />III. Oneka Gymnasium Programming <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission how tot time and open <br />gym at the Oneka Elementary school has continued to have a steady increase in <br />participation. Feedback on all programs has been positive and the popularity of the events <br />offered will only increase. Review of the schedule will be necessary this fall to utilize the <br />
