Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />January 14th, 2009 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Call to Order <br />Roger Clarke Called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />Present: Roger Clarke, Dan Gabrielli, Noel Schmidt, Russell Schmidt, Dave Strub, Jim <br />Taylor. <br />Absent: Rachel Berger, Melissa Parker <br />Staff Present: Scott Anderson, Public Works Director <br />Debi Close, Parks Secretary <br />I. Approval of Minutes of December 10, 2008 <br />Strub made a motion, Taylor seconded to approve the minutes of the December 10, <br />2008 Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Update on Parks and Recreation Subcommittee <br />Taylor updated the commission on the park and recreation subcommittee meeting <br />that was held January 13, 2009. The subcommittee determined that more <br />information was needed regarding the "needs" of the residents. The subcommittee <br />recommended a meeting with White Bear Lake Parks and Recreation to discuss <br />what programs were available to Hugo residents. <br />III. Update on Rice Lake Athletic Complex <br />Scott Anderson Public Works Director gave an update on the status of the Rice Lake <br />Athletic Complex. Staff is working with Laurie McRostie to continue to develop a site <br />plan for the layout of a future building and play area. Staff is continuing to explore <br />architect options for the concept designs of the future building. <br />
