All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />III. Goal Setting <br />Commission discussed and established goals for 2010. <br />IV. Update from Parks and Recreation Programming Sub -Committee <br />Shayla Syverson, Economic Development/Parks Intern, updated the commission on the <br />focus group that met on that December 8t", 2009. A full summary of the focus group will <br />be presented with the results of the community survey. Dialog and feedback from <br />residents included a few points of interest: <br />1. Community Center <br />2. Trails <br />3. Excitement about larger parks/Hansen property purchase <br />4. Heritage Ponds Park <br />5. Dog Park <br />Also, further meetings will be held with Dave Scheer and Mark Hjelle on coordinating <br />field layout and scheduling of soccer events at the Hanifl Fields Athletic Park. <br />V. Acknowledgement of Parks Commission Service <br />Roger Clarke thanked Dan Gabrielli and Melissa Parker for the service they have given <br />to the community as Park Commissioners. The vacancies will be advertised. Dan <br />Gabrielli will continue to be the liaison with the White Bear Lake Community Services <br />and Recreation Advisory Council until a replacement is designated to take over this role. <br />VI. Other <br />Taylor requested further Parks Commission discussions as the City Council works on <br />the shooting ordinance, especially hunting passive parks. <br />Taylor wanted the commission to be aware that the City Council discussed charitable <br />gambling at local establishments and that there may be changes in how it is handled. . <br />This is an item that will be watched to see if further involvement of the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission will be necessary. <br />Roger Clarke asked that the agenda for the next meeting include discussion on Earth <br />Day. Earth Day is held on April 22nd, 2010 and would like to see how the Commission <br />could help participate in this event. <br />
