Chiropractic, DeadBroke Saddle Club, The Blacksmith, Bayport Legion, Northern Signs, <br />Premier Bank, and Hugo Auto. Construction assistance was provided by Carl Bolander and <br />Sons, Cemstone, and Ace disposal. Home Depot provided $4,000 for construction materials, <br />and Subway donated coupons to feed the crew. <br />Parks Chair, Jim Taylor thanked the volunteers for their hard work and dedication to the Hugo <br />Community. He also stated that if additional assistance was needed to not hesitate to come to <br />the Parks Commission for help. Parks Commissioner Tom Windisch described the project as a <br />shining example of what can be accomplished by just a few people and that it was a great story <br />of community service and support. <br />III. Parks Commission Bylaws <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner provided a presentation on the current Parks Commission <br />Bylaws and the changes staff recommended by made to the Parks Commission Bylaws. Taylor <br />stressed the importance of regular attendance if the number of Commissioner on the Parks <br />Commission was reduced from nine member to seven. <br />Taylor Made motion, Windisch Seconded. <br />All Ayes. <br />Motion carried. <br />IV. 2013 Annual Report <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner presented the 2013 Annual Report of the Parks, Recreation, <br />and Open Space Commission. Accomplishments included new recreation programs including <br />Teen Movie Night and Nature Camp, expansion of the Tour De Hugo to 180 participants, <br />consistent attendance at Park Play Days, and expansion of the city's Geocache program. <br />Overall financial support totaling $4,800 was donated by 25 local businesses which supported <br />the participation of over 1,300 residents in Hugo recreation programs. In addition to the <br />volunteer efforts at the Hugo Elementary Hockey Rink, Syverson described the volunteer efforts <br />put forth by local Elementary teachers throughout town. Park projects included playground <br />improvements at Frog Hollow Park, Oneka Lake Park, and Diamond Point Park. <br />VI. 2014 Goal Setting <br />The Parks Commission discussed goals and action steps for 2014. <br />VI. Adjournment <br />Berger made a motion, Windisch seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:28 pm <br />
