MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MAY 20, 2013 <br />Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Bronk, Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, City Attorney David Snyder, City Engineer <br />Jay Kennedy, Finance Director Ron Otkin, Accounting Clerk Anna Wobse, and City Clerk <br />Michele Lindau <br />Moment of Silence for Tornado Victims <br />May 25, 2013 will mark the fifth anniversary of the F3 tornado that struck Hugo, claiming the <br />life of Nathan Prindle and destroying over 150 homes. Mayor Weidt called for a moment of <br />silence to remember the victims of that tornado and the one that struck Oklahoma City earlier on <br />this day, May 20, 2013. <br />Approval of the Minutes for the May 6, 2013 City Council Meeting <br />Klein made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the minutes for the May 6, 2013 City Council <br />meeting as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Minutes for the May 9, 2013 Roundabout Workshop <br />Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the minutes for the May 9, 2013 Roundabout <br />Workshop as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of the Agenda <br />Weidt made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the agenda as amended: <br />Add under Council Presentations: Road Striping on TH61 in Front of US Bank <br />Add under New Business: Discussion on Purchase Agreement for Former Carpenters Property <br />Add under Administrative Presentation: Rescheduling of Water Conservation Workshop <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Bayport American Legion Donation to the Yellow Ribbon Network and Soaring Eagles <br />Bayport American Legion Gambling Manager and Commander Wayne Peterson presented <br />checks to the Yellow Ribbon Network (YRN) and Soaring Eagles in the amount of $1,500 each, <br />and a check to the Hugo Fire Department in remembrance of the Hugo Tornado for $2,500 to <br />purchase emergency equipment. Bayport American Legion conducts gambling at Sal's Angus <br />Grill in the form of pull tabs, bingo, and meat raffles, which volunteers of the YRN assist in. <br />Marion commented that the use of electronic pull tabs have doubled their sales.
