MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2011 <br />Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Klein, Petryk, Weidt, Miron <br />ABSENT: Haas <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mike Ericson, Community Development Director Bryan <br />Bear, City Attorney Dave Snyder, Planner Rachel Juba, and City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Approval of Minutes for September 6, 2011 City Council Meeting <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the minutes for the September 6, 2011 City <br />Council Meeting as presented. <br />All Ayes. <br />Approval of the Agenda <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the Agenda as amended: <br />Add to Consent Agenda: Approve Leave Of Absence for Fire Fighter Michael Childs from the <br />Hugo Fire Department <br />Add to New Business: Heritage Ponds Home Owner Association Request for Individual Water <br />Meters <br />Add to Visitor Presentations: Discussion on Goodview Road in the City of Grant <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approve Special Event Permit for the Hugo Lions First Annual Hugo Hoedown Event on <br />September 24, 2011 <br />The City of Hugo received an application from the Hugo Lions Club for a Special Event Permit <br />for the first annual Hugo Hoedown Event scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011. City <br />staff has worked closely with Hugo Lions' members to ensure that the event is a fun and safe <br />family event. Staff has reviewed the application and found it to be satisfactorily complete along <br />with a requirement for additional police protection with the Washington County Sheriff's <br />Department. Lions President Floyd Petty and event organizer Lion Member Paul Neutkens, <br />Hugo Lions requested the City of Hugo pay the cost of the Sheriff's Deputies who will be <br />staffing the event from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. The cost of additional deputies and a squad car will be <br />$100/hour. <br />Petryk made motion, Weidt seconded, to approve the Special Event Permit for the Hugo Lions <br />Club for the First Annual Hugo Hoedown Event on Saturday, September 24, 2011, and approve <br />the City's contribution of the cost of the deputies who will provide coverage at the event. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
